Susan provides development, vision, direction and oversight to staff and consultants for all programs and activities. She promotes relationships with other non-profit and local government agencies and is the primary contact for fundraising and development opportunities.
Director of Health and Wellness Programming
Tawnya leads our cooking and nutrition workshops at the East Harlem Health Action Center and throughout the community. She ensures that each class has up-to-date, science based nutrition education and that our participants learn how to prepare fresh, delicious, and healthy meals. Director of Operations
Sam handles all of the logistics of SMART programs and activities. She builds relationships with other CBO’s in East Harlem and beyond. Contact Sam for any SMART program presentation inquiries.
Les applies his energy to the development of SMART programs and initiatives, as well as being the in-house graphic designer/marketing director, and the instructor for SMART Art & Technology. Working with the Founding Director, he is also the associate grant writer for SMART. SMART Ambassador/Program Manager
Tara assists in all SMART Food For Life programs, processes SMART Intake Forms, contacts clients for upcoming classes and events, and is part of the outreach team. Contact Tara for information on upcoming classes, to schedule an intake, or to RSVP for SMART Body.
Social Media Videographer
Bradley shoots stills and clips of our various programs taking place each week (and special events) and creates 30-60 second videos which are posted on our social media venues: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and our website. SMART Ambassador/Program Assistant
Annie assists in clean-up and food preparation for all Food For Life programming. She is also fluent in spoken Spanish and serves as a translator for the Spanish-speaking community. Contact Annie for information about our "Work It! Taste It!" weekly smoothie-making event.
Catherine is the Mandarin Chinese translator for SMART. She attends all of SMART's classes and events to assist our Chinese-speaking participants with translation and guidance in engaging with classroom activities. Contact Catherine for information about our Chinese translation services.
Smart Youth Founding Director
